The Kananaskis River will serve as a warm-up as you ride the gentle but exciting Class I to Class III man-made & natural rapids. Take in the natural beauty of the Kananaskis Valley as you surf and paddle your way through her whitewater. If you feel brave enough, hop in for a quick swim in the glacier-fed water.
After a picnic lunch and a quick shuttle ride, you’ll be in Horseshoe Canyon. Look around you: 200 canyons bespeckle the area. Cliff jumping is also available, depending on the water conditions.
This is a must-do experience for those vacationing to the Canmore-Kananaskis country.

RED DEER, ALBERTA–Less than two hours from Banff, Canmore-Kananaskis country, Calgary and Edmonton lies the Red Deer River, your future wilderness journey through the Canadian Rockies!
Originating from the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies inside Banff National Park, the Red Deer River offers you the chance to explore the rugged foothills and discover the local wildlife. Spend the day with our experienced guides as they lead you down some of the most exciting whitewater in the province.
There are several whitewater rafting trips available:
Whitewater Rafting on the Red Deer River
Class Level: Beginner to intermediate (Class II-IV)
Activities: Rafting, Surfing, Lunch.
Adult Rate: $132.00/pp + gst
Youth/Group Rate: $122.00/pp + gst

Note:This trip can only be run for groups of 20 or more.
The Sampler
For those that only want a taste of the Canmore-Kananaskis whitewater rafting experience, we offer a 2.5 hour trip that will whet your appetite.
Rapids: Class 2-4
Length: 2.5 hrs
Price per person:
$95.00pp + gst on Saturdays (not available very often)
$84.00pp + gst Sunday-Friday
Transportation option: sometimes available for $10pp + gst; ask agent when booking
Other Information:
- This trip includes lunch

The Full Jaunty
A full day of rafting on the Red Deer river: a perfect addition to any Canmore-Kananaskis vacation in the Canadian Rockies. Great for any experience level.
You will arrive at 10:30AM at our base camp to familiarize yourself with our guides and the area. At 11:00AM, lunch will be served, where release forms will also be signed. You’ll be given a short orientation for the rafting gear as well as a safety briefing for the trip before departure at 12:30PM. At the end of the trip, you’ll be transported back to camp by bus to enjoy the camp facilities.
Rapids: Class 2-4
Length: 4.5hrs
Price per person:
$119.00pp + gst for individuals
$109.00pp + gst for groups of 8-24 people
$104.00pp + gst for groups of 25+ people
